The praying.it initiative's Terms and Conditions

Whether you are an individual or representative of a church or other group, you will be termed 'you' within these terms and conditions. If you represent a church or other group, you must ensure that you have gained the permission of the group before you can represent them.

The 'initiative' is a combination of services, media, concepts and resources and is owned by At Hand Creations. The initiative includes, but is not limited to, the internet based media that forms this website,

You agree to respect all copyright and intellectual property rights of At Hand Creations. You will not in any way distribute, copy or act as if you own any part of the initiative without the written permission of At Hand Creations.

At Hand Creations grant you permission to access and use the initiative only for its intended purpose and only if you accept and abide by these terms and conditions.

Your access or use of any part of the initiative will be treated by At Hand Creations as acceptance of these terms and conditions. Consequently, if you do not accept these terms and conditions, you must not access or use the initiative.

Headings within these terms and conditions are provided to help you navigate through the page and must not be considered as integral to the terms and conditions.

At Hand Creations may rightfully change these terms and conditions at any time without notice so please ensure you are familiar with the most recent terms and conditions by regularly checking here for updates. (Members of the initiative will normally receive notice of changes by email but you must not rely upon receiving such notification).

If you are under the age of 16 or otherwise not legally able to accept the responsibility of these terms and conditions, you must have permission from your responsible parent or guardian who must agree to the terms and conditions and accept the responsibility on your behalf, so that the term "you" in these terms and conditions refers both to yourself and your responsible parent or guardian.

If you agree to the initiative's statement of belief and these terms and conditions, you are eligible to use the online facility to submit a request to take part in the initiative. Such a request, once processed by At Hand Creations, may be accepted or declined by them. If accepted, you will become a member.

Whether or not you are a member, the following terms and conditions apply:

No financial obligations: It's free!

The initiative is free of charge: There are no initial, ongoing or final charges.

Any contributions made to the initiative are entirely voluntary: There is no obligation upon you to make such contributions nor is there any obligation upon At Hand Creations to create or supply anything in return.

Disclaimers, liabilities, responsibilities and warranties

The initiative is offered as is and without warranty, either expressed or implied.

At Hand Creations disclaims any and all risk arising from your involvement with the initiative. If you should suffer any loss or damage of any kind, you accept that no liability claim will be made against At Hand Creations.

Through hyper-links and other means, the initiative presents opportunities for you to access and use websites and other services provided by third parties. You accept that At Hand Creations is not responsible for services provided by third parties or their terms and conditions.

Privacy and Security

At Hand Creations use the most secure and trustworthy method of keeping your personal data secure: they do not request personal data unless there is a particular, stated, need to do so: You can be a member without providing any contact details at all!

Your privacy is important to At Hand Creations and is guarded by the privacy statements in these terms and conditions and by a proprietary online security system.

The proprietary security system is implemented to provide appropriately secure protection of private member data, passwords and actions.

Session Cookies are used by the security system to maintain an encrypted session while you access online services. You may need to enable (Session) Cookies on your web browser in order to use the online services.

At Hand Creations do not store any details about you and your activities other than those knowingly supplied by you or provided for you.

At Hand Creations will never provide third parties with your Email Address or any other details without your permission unless demanded to by law.

At Hand Creations will never access your email account unless for some reason you request such access. However, if there is specific reason to believe that your account has been used for illegal activities, the account may be suspended and investigated. In the unlikely event that such an account is reactivated, you will be provided with full details of the action taken and the reason for such action.

You must keep details of your email Password, your Member Pass and your Membership Number safe and secure at all times. Think carefully about the security implications before you let your web browser store passwords. You may need to close down your web browser after use, or log out of your computer system altogether, in order to maintain security.

Every member must respect the privacy of every other member of the initiative in line with these terms and conditions. Being a member does not mean you have permission to send emails to other members, rather you have an obligation to respect their privacy.

You must handle the Usernames and Email Addresses of praying.it members with care: You must not store or in any way disclose these details to others without the permission of the members they relate to.

Taking part in the initiative

Whether through online input fields or other means, you must only submit information to At Hand Creations that is accurate, truthful and appropriate.

At Hand Creations generally aim to process requests to take part in the initiative within 24-48 hours. Requested Email Addresses are evaluated manually and if the address, or part of it, is considered misrepresentative (it doesn't aim to represent you or its meaning could be misinterpreted) or offensive or confusing, the request is rejected: your membership is declined.

If you are already a member or you have submitted a request to take part that has not yet been processed, you must not submit any further request to take part: you can only take one part!

The following terms and conditions apply to you once you become a member.

Email facilities

At Hand Creations will not make manual or automatic additions or modifications to emails in a member's email account. At Hand Creations will not tag advertisements to the end of your emails!

You will never send emails to or from a praying.it email address that could reasonably be termed 'vulgar', 'obscene', 'spam' or a 'scam'.

If you change your name and as a consequence you would like to change your praying.it Email Address, please contact At Hand Creations for advice.

You accept that At Hand Creations may send a maximum of 12 emails per annum to your praying.it Email Address, plus emails that provide important information and news specifically about the praying.it initiative.

Badges & Banners

Graphics and HTML code are provided for use on websites, pages or emails belonging to praying.it members only. Please remember that Badges and Banners must be used for their intended purpose.

Members have permission to modify the HTML code but the appearance of the graphic must not be altered.

The address and functionality of the link to the praying.it site must remain intact and operative with no form of temporary or permanent redirection.

Prayer Partners

A member becomes the Prayer Partner of another member by sending a request via the online system regardless of whether the request is acted upon.

You agree that the following Prayer Partner Rules will apply to any communications that you have within a praying.it Prayer Partner relationship:

Prayer Partner Rules

If you have received an email from the initiative's email address admin@praying.it informing you that a particular member wants to be your Prayer Partner:

  • You may send a maximum of 26 emails per annum in response to the request.
  • If you receive an email from your Prayer Partner and that email clearly invokes a response, you may respond with a further single email.
  • You may choose to send different emails at different times to different Prayer Partners and you may choose to send none at all.
  • Should you make a request of, or offer to, a Prayer Partner, you must ensure that it is clearly presented and that it works on an "opt-in" basis. You must make it clear that it is not offered, requested or supported by At Hand Creations or the initiative.
  • Before sending an email to a Prayer Partner, you must check your praying.it email in case the Prayer Partner has followed the rules for terminating a partnership.
If you become another member's Prayer Partner you will only send a maximum of 1 email in response to each email you receive unless your communication clearly invokes and receives a response.

Either member in a Prayer Partner relationship:

  • must not send emails that, including any attachments, are larger than 200 kilobytes in size.
  • must ensure that all emails are in fitting with the reasonable expectations of the recipient, which may reasonably develop into a wider communication.
  • must be aware that At Hand Creations does not currently provide any verification of whether a member's identity or claims are true. Furthermore, it is easy to fake email 'from' addresses. Be careful: do not be deceived! Protect your personal or financial information from potential misuse.
Communications that may reasonably, in the opinion of At Hand Creations, be considered misleading, inappropriate, deceptive or exploitational are strictly prohibited.

The rules for terminating a partnership are:

  • An online system provides you with the ability to terminate any Prayer Partner relationship you have previously requested. The system may not allow you to terminate a Prayer Partner relationship within 24 hours of requesting it.
  • If you receive an email from the initiative's email address admin@praying.it informing you that a particular member wants to end their Prayer Partner relationship, you must respect that request. You may send a final email unless, under the permissions of these rules, some other mutual agreement has been made.

Termination of membership

If you choose to stop being a member of the initiative, you must inform At Hand Creations who will then send an email to your praying.it Email Address seeking verification. If such verification is received, your membership, including your Email facilities, will be terminated within 14 days with all emails and settings being deleted.

If At Hand Creations find that a member has failed to abide by these terms and conditions, that member may be emailed with a warning or, if At Hand Creations consider it appropriate, membership may be terminated without notice.

If you were a member for more than 3 months, your Email Address and Username will remain out of use for 12 months after termination.

If a member appears to have abandoned use of the initiative for a period of 12 months, At Hand Creations reserve the right to send 3 enquiry emails a minimum of 4 weeks apart. Based on the response or lack of response to the 3 emails after a final 4 weeks, At Hand Creations reserves the right to declare that "seeing as use of the initiative was abandoned over 12 months ago, membership was terminated at that time".

The laws of England govern these terms and conditions. You agree to be bound exclusively by the jurisdiction of English courts without reference to rules governing choice of laws.

If any statement within these terms and conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining statements will remain in force.

to return.
